Notes from Underground
About:
Notes from Underground is a novella written in 1864 by Fyodor Dostoevsky and is considered by many to be one of the first existentialist novels. The novella is mainly the ramblings of a bitter, isolated, unnamed narrator (generally referred to as the Underground Man). He is a retired civil servant living in St. Petersburg. The underground man acts as a first-person, unreliable narrator and anti-hero in a way.
